Gloria Williams
Founder & President, Grandparents N’ Charge

Grandparents N’ Charge was founded in the winter of 2014, and I officially obtained my business certificate on June 2, 2015.

I am the proud mother of three grown children, grandmother of two grown grandchildren, and great-grandmother of twins—a girl and a boy.

My journey began as I found myself parenting for a second time, raising my granddaughter from the age of two. She is now 21. Through this experience, I realized that many grandparents are raising grandchildren without adequate support systems. This inspired me to create Grandparents N` Charge, an organization dedicated to supporting grandparents who are navigating the challenges of parenting again and facing limited resources.

In addition to running my organization while working full-time, I serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Guardian ad Litem. I also advocate for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and serve as a foster and pre-adoptive parent for children in the care and custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).

I am also an author who enjoys writing and reading. I have written four books designed to empower grandparents, which I use in workshops and have made available on Amazon.

Previously, I served as President of the Family Support Group for the Air Force JROTC program, in which my granddaughter participated throughout high school. She graduated in June 2023 as a Second Lieutenant.

I currently lead a support group on Meetup.com called the Grandparents Meetup Club, which has grown to over 100 members. We meet monthly to share resources, encouragement, and community.

I am a member of Living Local 413, Generations United, and the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce. I also serve as a Hub Partner with All Our Kids, Inc., and participate in the Western Massachusetts Foster Care Coalition with the Treehouse Foundation.

In 2023, I was honored to be selected as a finalist for the Remarkable Women of Western Massachusetts.

In addition to my advocacy work, I am a certified spin instructor and have taught spin classes for over seven years. I enjoy staying active, traveling, and spending quality time with my family.
